Updated: Feb 4, 2019

We started this week going thought and getting latest news from different projects.

Going in an order Jari, Jose, Roberto, David.

All have been making progress in different parts of the projects.

Team - the most important part.

NABC model

Same principle applies to company and non-profit organization. There always will be some kind of competition. For non-profit the competition can even be a business making company selling the stuff.

For all you need to understand what you are against with your product.

Today we are talking about Business Models.

Janne shows a video https://strategyzer.com/canvas/business-model-canvas

This business model canvas is explained on the video.

There has to be need for your product - NABC model.

What is the value that your product is generating.

Who will be willing to pay for your product.

You need to get people and business to trust you and your product so they want to start using your product instead for example competitors product. (Customer relationships.)

Identify key resources, people, production machines etc. What you want to make yourself and what you want to give to your key partners.

When you get the top parts (on canvas) ready you start to see what the Cost Structure will be.

At the end of the day you need to make money, i.e. Revenue Streams to stay alive in the business. revenue streams can be different, direct sales, monthly subscription, leasing, licensing etc.

Filling the Business Model Canvas is an iterative process, so you need to go through it over and over to refine it to better specify the parts in it and finally giving you a better big picture of the whole Business Model.

B to B -> Business to Business sales.

Start talking to you customers as soon as possible.

Example from Janne and IndoorAtlas.

Example IndoorAtlas BMC.

Single shop solution - all you need is available from one source - your business. No need to use other providers at the same time.

EXERCISE 1: Make a Business Model Canvas. (If you can not fill the whole canvas, don't worry. It will iterate. (Send canvas to Janne.)

About patents:

Not that critical for small company. Is useful when seeking funding and when you are a big company and can use your patent portfolio as leverage against other big companies. This will need a lot of money and army of layers.
