NABC homework

This weeks home work was to go through the project using NABC-approach.

NABC has been introduced at https://innovationenglish.sites.ku.dk/model/nabc/

NABC approach

Using this to my project of modular post automation system.

Nabc - Need - What is the most important user and market need?

To automate old machines is an answer to today's automation needs without buying new expensive machinery. User of the product would be industry/users of old production or so machines which are man labor intensive.

nAbc - Approach - Describe a project's concept/focus, solution (content/core activities) and its process in relation to the target group need.

Automation is today's norm but machines are old. Market need for automation is obvious. There are multiple paths to achieve this. This approach is one of them. Modular automation idea is to provide user with "external" means to automate old machines that are at good working condition and would have lot of use years ahead of them. And without modifying the actual machine. This gives an option of cheap and fast automation while machine is in use.

naBc - Benefits - Projects positive effects for the target group and client.

Fast, cheap machine automation. No need to remove machine from daily use for re-building. Does not need machine specific knowledge or service provider.

nabC - Comptition - What client stands to gain in relation to the competition.

There is no competition directly providing the same concept. New machine providers would be considered the closest competition when customer makes a decision of automating old machines.

Idea Selection

Demand - demand for automation is high in today's world.

Address a problem - automating is big and expensive process for companies - cheap way to do it is an option.

Value to user - cheap and fast way to automate labor intensive processes.

Will the user's like it - If user likes to get hands dirty and save some money - yes.

How product is used - Select and automate processes that can be done with this process. This does not apply to all machines.

Cost - Cost of the system is minor compared to alternative i.e. purchasing a new machine that has automation on it from the factory.
